Frost

Ugh,

We planted too early.  We had a frost last week.  About 1/3 of our peppers and 2/3 of our tomatoes were killed.

Planting!

We planted a lot of our garden yesterday!  Here is our tomato patch of 34 plants:



And here is one of our fine, young plants:

We begin our 2013 garden

Jo and I went to the garden this afternoon.  I tilled most of the garden, and she planted three rows of spring crops (onions, shallots, garlic, leeks, collards, etc.).  Here are the results:

I prepared the first two rows for planting the tomatoes:


The idea is to arrange the tomato cages in a large grid with plenty of room (40 inches) to till in both directions (E/W and N/S):
